The VCE at Box Hill High School
The program of VCE Studies offered at Box Hill High School is designed to give all students the opportunity to gain entry into their chosen post-school studies and future career choice. At Box Hill High School, we offer a highly personalised approach to course counselling and subject selection. Through our VCE Expo, one-to-one course advising sessions, and our careers curriculum and home group programs, students are encouraged to make subject choices that align to their strengths, interests, and future directions. We also offer parents and carers opportunities to be part of this journey.
A majority of our Year 11 students are encouraged and supported to undertake one Year 12 (Unit 3-4) subject. GAPP and high achieving students are given the opportunity to take more than one Unit 3-4 subject in Year 11.
VCE Vocational Major
We also offer the VCE Vocational Major – a two-year applied learning program within the VCE that supports students to develop academic and practical skills, and the confidence and agency needed to prepare for the world of work and further education and training. As well as undertaking the four VCE VM subjects, students in VM also complete VET programs and work experience that align with their career aspirations.
