The Health Centre at Box Hill High School provides students with immediate first aid and supportive care for any illness or injury that occurs during school hours.
If a student is assessed as being too unwell to return to class, we will contact parents or guardians promptly. We understand that parents/guardians are often at work and have busy schedules, but we kindly ask for your prompt attention in arranging for your child’s collection due to the high volume of students we assist.
When you arrive to collect your child, our Health Centre staff will provide you with a briefing on their condition and offer recommendations for any necessary follow-up treatment.
In the event of a more serious or emergency situation, an ambulance will be called immediately, and we will inform you as soon as possible. If we are unable to contact you or if the situation is urgent, a decision will be made by the Health Centre staff in consultation with the Principal Team, always in the best interest of your child.
If your child has any medical condition, including anaphylaxis, asthma, allergies, diabetes or other health concerns, please notify our school nurse. This ensures that a tailored health support plan is created to provide the appropriate care during school, as well as on camps or excursions.
