Minister for Education meets with BHHS students

Box Hill High School was delighted to host a visit last Tuesday 18 November by the Hon Jason Clare MP, Minister for Education, and Mr Gabriel Ng MP, Member for Menzies, both of whom met with student leaders from all year levels during an informal chat session.

Students asked wide-ranging questions about the delay in accessing social media, the future of AI, and the evolving role of teachers, while both visitors shared their thoughts about how government and schools can work together to shape the future of education. Minister Clare welcomed our students’ honesty and insight, noting that hearing directly from young people is essential to shaping effective policy.

He remarked on the intelligence and respect shown by our BHHS students, and both visitors stayed longer than planned to continue the discussion, respond to challenging questions and share their belief that education is central to building a stronger, fairer society.

Box Hill High School extends its thanks to both Jason Clare and Gabriel Ng for engaging so openly with our students and supporting meaningful student voice.
