The photographs from the Box Hill High School Debutante Ball are available for viewing and purchase. Go to www.lifethroughalens.com.au and follow the link on the Debutante Ball page. To access the photographs you will need to contact Louise Caldwell, Kellie Ind or Julie Kennedy at the school as the Gallery is password protected. Debutantes who supplied their email addresses on the evening have been sent the passwords.
Available for viewing are over 400 low resolution copies of photographs taken on the night of the Debs arrival, individual and couples portraits and photographs with family and friends. Being low resolution, the quality, sharpness etc will be of course a poorer standard for viewing on the website than the quality of high resolution prints you will receive. Comments on the Debutante Ball from Newsletter dated 16th September 2009
What a perfect night last Friday was! I was so impressed by the grandeur and beauty of the occasion and the poise and grace of our students! Ms Ind and Ms Caldwell you are truly amazing! Your organisational skills are outstanding and the words that you wrote about each of the students were so positive, uplifting and affirming that no wonder they seemed to float down the dance floor! It was an absolute delight to see parents and families celebrating, supporting and publicly acknowledging their wonderful children as they danced and were presented to Mr and Mrs Robert Clarke. Sincere thanks also to Ms Kennedy and Mr Ryan who were wonderful hosts and acknowledged each student in such a positive and delightful way. Thank you to all the staff who also went and supported the event – you are certainly a handsome crew!
For one who in the past was philosophically opposed to the idea of Debutante Balls, last Friday’s event has led me to reflect and review my opinion! I would still like to see the girls in gowns the colour of their choice but I understand that tradition is important. It is good to see that in these busy and casual times some formal traditions still exist where students are expected to be poised, graceful, elegant and respectful.
Thanks again to Ms Ind and Ms Caldwell – I know the hard work that you put into this event, but I also know how much the students valued this opportunity. You must have felt so proud of each and every one of our students! Congratulations and well done!!
